Shady joined us at Christmas 2007 as a gift for our son Leo, who was desperate for a rabbit of his own. We selected him from the Rabbit Rescue Organisation in Hull, where there were 37 different rabbits to choose from, all breeds and ages. Shady was called Stevie originally, and was rehomed as his owner had medical problems and could no longer look after him.

We chose Shady as he was calm and friendly, perfect for Leo to handle.

Hopscotch (previously Fudge) followed at Easter 2008, we spent a long time searching for a suitable lady friend for Shady and she eventually came from a rescue centre in Dewsbury. Her previous owner hadn't had time to care for her long coat and she was badly matted. However, she and Shady are the very best of rabbit friends.

Hopefully she'll settle in well here at Team Borderstorm, and teach the Collies a thing or two! She can already growl as loudly as they can, and she likes to sit on her cushion, surveying the front room!
